OUR LEAN MANAGEMENT CONVICTION
The term LEAN Management and its associated ways of thinking, methods and processes for effective company design is nothing new.
LEAN Management means “creating value without waste”. The objective is value creation in all areas, superfluous activities must be avoided. In the process, value creation follows two lines of focus: What are the wishes of the users/customers and how can the company remain profitable?
What is new, however, is that LEAN Management in its entirety is one of the core elements of the digital revolution and thus of entrepreneurship/start-up thinking. The term LEAN start-up is therefore derived from this concept, contributing a key additional feature to the “lean” structures and processes: the high speed in implementing innovative ideas.
“Competition is increasingly a question of the correct controllability of time. It is not that the big eat the small; rather, the quick overtake the slow.”
These words by the top German manager Eberhard von Kuenheim (*1928) (1970-93 CEO, 1993-99 supervisory board chairman BMW AG) are as valid as they ever were and, in our view, should be phrased even more dramatically:
“It is not that the quick overtake the slow; rather the quick overtake and destroy the slow.”
We have been practising LEAN Management successfully for many years with and for our customers. We are convinced that our customers can be successful in the future only by means of a functioning LEAN Management (=LEAN start-up).
LEAN Management, start-up thinking and speed are the building blocks for a successful digital transformation! We firmly believe that, and support companies successfully in this exciting and challenging process!
INNOVATIONS WITH DESIGN THINKING
“Innovation” means something new, a novelty, or renewal. Particular attention should be paid here to the economic success of a product or service that emerges from innovation. Design thinking gives equal space to three aspects:
User thinking (what benefits the customer/internally: my staff? – Feasibility (what is realistic?) – Economic effectiveness (what benefits the company?)
Design thinking is a working method that combines different tools in order to encourage the generation of ideas and innovation as well as possible. The approach is completely independent of sector or desired result.
The process of design thinking is always “person-centred” – i.e. it always starts with the question of when a certain solution is attractive for a specific target group. Only then are feasibility and economic effectiveness considered.
Design thinking works best when the project team is composed of many experts with various different skills.
In order to set off creative processes, it helps to break up everyday structures and create a new environment.
In principle, there is no prescribed approach for the process.
The six process steps are connected iteratively with each other. Therefore: the thinking and working cultures of design thinking are always open to expansion and addition. The process steps serve as an orientation.
Innovations are the engine in the digital revolution. Design thinking is an efficient and modern possibility to approach innovations in a targeted, methodical and successful manner. We provide this process and approach.
PARTNER IN AGILE PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Efficient development requires an agile company structure. Using agile working methods, your company can react must better to changes in all sectors. The way to achieve more agility, besides the suitable tools and processes, is above all via your employees and the manner in which they interact effectively. For they actively shape the transformation and live the new company culture. The analysis of the work done will form the core for a permanent optimisation.
Changed ways of thinking are the key to more agility. The company structures decide whether or not employees can work well together. Companies that want to become more agile must be changed so that they support employees in working precisely towards the attainment of specific targets.
The path to an agile company: Agility is a means to an end – and not an end in itself. Changing a company and its organisational structure is a complex challenge. Whoever wishes to have motivated employees must give them some control.
Under expert supervision, this complex challenge can be a success! That is what we offer you.
